Humour makes a welcome return to the fantasy genre in the new Dungeons & Dragons film, which stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Regé-Jean Page.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (subtitle spelled Honour Among Thieves in the United Kingdom and Ireland) is a 2023 American/Canadian fantasy heist action comedy film directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who cowrote the screenplay with Michael Gilio from a story by Chris McKay and Gilio.[8][9] Based on the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons, it is set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting[1][2] and has no connections to the film trilogy released between 2000 and 2012. The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant.[10]

Production went through various phases in development since 2013, beginning with Warner Bros. Pictures after beating Hasbro and Universal Pictures in a lawsuit over the film rights to the tabletop role-playing game, before moving to Paramount Pictures, each with various writers and directors. Goldstein and Daley were the final writers/directors, using elements from the previous attempt by director Chris McKay and screenwriter Michael Gilio. Filming began in April 2021 in Iceland and later Northern Ireland.

John Wick: Chapter 4 (stylized as JW4) is a 2023 American neo-noir action thriller film directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. The sequel to John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019), it is the fourth installment in the John Wick franchise. It stars Keanu Reeves as the title character, alongside Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane.

Development for a fourth John Wick film was confirmed prior to the release of its predecessor; it was formally announced by Lionsgate in May 2019, who also confirmed Reeves's return. It is the first film in the franchise not to be written by franchise creator Derek Kolstad, with Hatten hired in May 2020, followed by Finch in March 2021, to complete the screenplay. The rest of the main cast was rounded out by August 2021 while principal photography took place from that June until that October, with filming locations including Berlin, Paris, Osaka, and New York City.

Scream VI is a 2023 American slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, with original franchise writer and creator Kevin Williamson returning as executive producer. It is the sixth installment in the Scream film series, and a direct sequel to Scream (2022). The film stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, all reprising their roles from previous installments, alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving. Franchise star Neve Campbell announced she would not be returning as Sidney Prescott due to not being pleased with the offer presented to her, making this the first film in the franchise not to feature the actress or character.

Scream VI is the third film of the series to be set outside the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, moving the location to New York City, and follows a new Ghostface who targets the surviving members of the "Woodsboro Legacy Attacks." Similar to previous entries, Scream VI combines the violence of the slasher genre with elements of black comedy and "whodunit" mystery, and satirizes the trend of film franchises.

Success has its privileges, including the freedom to get off to the relatively slow start that “The Mandalorian” indulged with its third-season debut, reintroducing the central players and a few peripheral ones, while laying out the bones of a plot that might be called Mission to Mandalore.

In one of the stranger aspects of Mandalorian tradition, removing his helmet has branded Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, or at least, his voice) an apostate, prompting him to go to his home world in an effort to atone.

The journey, however, requires a few pitstops first, beginning with a muscular action sequence involving a giant creature, followed by a visit to his old friend Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) and another to Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff), who doesn’t understand Djarin’s commitment to the Mandalorian code. (Karga did explain the absence of Cara Dune after Disney opted to part ways with the actor who played her, Gina Carano, due to offensive social-media posts.)

Rudd, 53, who plays the titular superhero in the Marvel sequel, was one of only a handful of bona fide stars present for the movie's grand opening at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park.
He was joined by the film's director Peyton Reed and his co-star Jonathan Majors, who plays the villainous Kang the Conqueror - but that was pretty much where the 'A-list' portion of the guest list ended.
